Habitat for Humanity of Dubois County was started in 1995 as an extension of Habitat for Humanity International to eliminate substandard housing in Dubois County. We are a non-profit Christian housing ministry founded on the conviction that every man, woman and child should have a simple, durable place to live in dignity and safety, and that decent shelter should be a matter of conscience and action for all.
We mobilize funds, materials, and volunteer labor to construct houses in partnership with low-income families. These houses are sold to our partner families at no profit to habitat.
With the ongoing support of our community through volunteers and donors, we are continuing our mission to eliminate substandard housing within our own community.
This is a joint effort between Habitat and its community, and we are continuously blessed by the caring and concerned neighbors of Dubois County. We thank you for your outpouring of support and love for your fellow neighbors, and we look forward to many more homes and families in our future.
Non-proselytizing policy
Habitat for Humanity and its affiliate organizations will not proselytize. Nor will Habitat work with entities or individuals who insist on proselytizing as part of their work with Habitat. This means that Habitat will not offer assistance on the expressed or implied condition that people must adhere to or convert to a particular faith or listen and respond to messaging designed to induce conversion to a particular faith.
