At Habitat for Humanity of Dubois County we believe it is a basic human right that everyone has access to safe, stable, and affordable housing. We want to help you build a better life for you and your family that will last generations. Side by side we will help you build a new home and help you learn the needed skills to become a successful homeowner. Becoming a homeowner is hard work but with some help from volunteers and donors, we can build a stronger future together.
If you are interested in applying and you meet the following requirements, please print and complete the application below. Applications are also available for pickup at the ReStore Wednesday thru Friday 11:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. and Saturday 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. The ReStore is located at 4232 S. 170 E. in Huntingburg.
ABILITY TO PAY
I can afford to pay approximately $450 a month with a zero-percent APR.
I have no liens or judgments.
I have not had a bankruptcy in the last two years.
My household income does not exceed 80% of the area median income based on the number of people living in my household.
NEED FOR HOUSING
I currently do not qualify for traditional financing from a bank.
My current living situation is overcrowded.
My current living situation has major problems that my landlord will not fix, or I am unable to fix myself.
I am currently overburdened by the cost of rent.
WILLING TO PARTNER
I am willing to work 200+ hours (sweat equity hours) on my home and the homes of others.
I am willing to attend homeownership workshops.
I am willing to engage in the Future Homeowner Advocate program.
